Treatment

Since the establishment in 1989, AMC has grown into a tertiary care hospital following an increase of various diseases and referrals from other departments.

Among other special clinics, the Laser Clinic has begun treatment with dye laser and carbon dioxide laser systems since 1989 and became a leading clinic center as more equipment such as copper vapor laser, Alexandrite Laser, QSNd-YAG, V-Beam, Erb-YAG, IPL laser systems are supplied.

Research

The Department of Dermatology has begun publishing journals papers and giving presentations at various conferences since 1990 and continues leading and engaging in research projects of dermatopathology using immunohistochemical method other than studies of interesting cases and clinical trials. Besides, professors at Asan Institute for Life Sciences and who have completed overseas trainings conduct advanced research programs using diverse molecular biology techniques.

Education

With the aim of training competent dermatologists, faculty members led by a chief instructor have been dedicated to education on specialties. Since its opening, AMC has gradually expanded magazine-reading activities and dermatopathology conferences, and now holds the programs of Basic Science, Disease Review, Journal Review, and Histopathology Self Study every week. Education and research for graduate students of dermatology have been provided as the College of Medicine was established in the University of Ulsan in 1992; and lectures and clinical practices for senior medical students at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine have been given during the first semester since 1993. Special lectures by renowned experts and lecturers are held and also planned to be expanded to increase opportunities to acquire recent insights and knowledge.
