The Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery performs a wide range of surgical procedures on the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, and pancreas, including both benign and malignant conditions that need surgery.
We actively use minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery to provide safe and effective care tailored to each patient. We established a strong foundation by using laparoscopic surgery for liver and pancreatic diseases. In recent years, we have expanded to robotic surgery for more complex cases. These advanced techniques have demonstrated excellent outcomes, including enhanced safety, precision, faster recovery, and reduced pain.
While minimally invasive surgery plays a major role, open surgery remains essential, especially for advanced cancers. For cases involving vascular invasion or large tumors, we combine neoadjuvant chemotherapy with radical open surgery to achieve better outcomes. We also perform surgery for challenging, advanced-stage diseases that are often difficult to treat surgically, including major vessel resection and reconstruction, as well as extensive liver and pancreatic resections, ensuring comprehensive treatment options even for the most complex cases.
With expertise in both minimally invasive and complex open surgery, we are dedicated to delivering the highest level of personalized care to every patient.
